Job Summary
Senior Paralegal to support the U.S. Attorney's Office, Western District of Texas (San Antonio) handling litigation-related tasks for CBP Border Fence actions. Responsibilities include case management, legal research, document preparation (including Declarations of Taking, Complaints, Notices, Joint Motions), witness interview support, deposition and trial preparation, title review, exhibit management, reporting, data analysis, and maintaining litigation systems. Requires an associate degree (or high school diploma with Paralegal Certificate), 3+ years of legal-support experience, strong MS Office skills, U.S. Citizenship, and ability to obtain DOJ security clearances. Onsite with limited remote work possible; occasional travel within the district.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Finance, English, Journalism, or a related field; OR High school diploma (or equivalent) plus a Paralegal Certificate.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing legal support services, including drafting: Correspondence, Pleadings, Motions, Proposed Orders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated experience supporting litigation matters and managing legal documentation.
- Strong written communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain required DOJ security clearances and background investigation approval.
