Job Summary
Senior Paralegal for a global law firm in the Restructuring & Special Situations (RSS) group. Responsible for managing and leading all supportive aspects of cases or transactions for the RSS team, handling insolvency and restructuring matters involving corporations, banks, creditors’ committees, hedge funds, sponsors, and other financial institutions. Responsibilities include precedent research, jurisdictional research, drafting pleadings, preparing checklists and case calendars, drafting proofs of claim and exhibits, cite checking and Bluebooking, preparing fee applications, case-file management, preparing exhibits and trial notebooks, reviewing and summarizing UCC lien searches and financing statements (personal property and fixtures), liaising with outside counsel and third parties, coordinating outside services, and training paralegals and new attorneys. Protecting confidential information inherent to firm matters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from ABA-approved program
- Minimum of six (6) years of equivalent paralegal experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of RSS experience preferably
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Liaising with counsel, clients, and third parties
- Training paralegals and new attorneys
