Job Summary
Design, architect, and develop Oracle database management systems for DEA Special Operations initiatives, focusing on multitenant isolation, data modeling, and Linux-based development. Optimize complex analytical queries using Oracle 23ai/26ai features and mentor application teams on SQL best practices and PL/SQL optimization. Collaborate with data architects to translate logical models into efficient physical structures, manage metadata integration, and oversee database decommissioning and archive partitioning. Maintain the security posture of the Linux Oracle platform through automated patch management and access control compliance. Requires 10+ years of Oracle expertise, active Secret clearance, and ability to obtain DEA Public Trust clearance within 4–6 weeks. Hybrid schedule (4 days onsite) in Chantilly, VA.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant work experience as an Oracle Database Engineer, Developer, or Developer DBA
- Deep, hands-on experience with modern Oracle versions, specifically focusing on Oracle 23ai / 26ai architecture and features
- Proven experience designing and managing applications within Oracle Pluggable Databases (PDBs)
- Extensive experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling using state-of-the-art tools (e.g., ER/Studio, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler)
- 7–10 years of expertise in large, complex SQL query development, advanced PL/SQL (stored procedures, packages, triggers), and modern Oracle development IDEs
- Expert-level knowledge of Oracle Internals, execution plans, indexing strategies, and automated performance tuning via Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud Control
- Demonstrated experience in data integration, metadata management, and analytical data stores
- Minimum of an active Secret security clearance
