Job Summary
As a Senior (or above) Environment Artist at Elsewhere Entertainment, you will collaborate closely with level designers and the art director to create engaging 3D environments that enhance gameplay and narrative. Responsibilities include crafting visual narratives, ideating locations, producing 3D models, and setting up level maps. The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio in environment art, experience in AAA game development, proficiency in 3D software, and the ability to work well within a team under tight deadlines. Bonus skills include experience with procedural workflows and photogrammetry.
Required Qualifications
- Solid portfolio demonstrating focus and passion for 3D environment & prop creation
- Professional experience in creating Environment or Prop Art in AAA game development with at least one AAA title
- Excellent artistic and design skills, including a keen eye for composition, color theory, and visual storytelling
- Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling and texturing software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer)
- Experience working in Modern Game Engines with awareness of game budgets and limits
- Ability to resolve issues from a visual, production, and technical perspective
- Basic ability to communicate visually utilizing traditional media
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and work under tight deadlines
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in working in or developing procedural workflows via tools like Houdini or UPS
- Experience with photogrammetry or other scanning techniques & workflows
