Senior Optical Metrology Engineer
On-siteGuangzhou, Guangdong, China
Job Summary
Define optical metrology capabilities for Rx AR/VR smart glasses assemblies, including prescription lenses with waveguides and display components. Design structured metrology portfolios to support R&D, prototyping, vendor qualification, and production inspection. Translate technical requirements into measurable methods for specifications, inspection procedures, and acceptance criteria. Develop measurement methods for virtual image quality and see-through quality, implementing studies for MTF, distortion, ghost image, stray light, and chromatic aberration. Establish correlations between optical simulation, actual results, and manufacturing parameters. Lead equipment selection, evaluation, and qualification of advanced optical metrology tools, including confocal microscopes and interferometers. Collaborate with global cross-functional teams across R&D, quality, manufacturing, and suppliers to support technical analysis and process improvements. Own project deliverables and drive technical issues to closure.
