Job Summary
Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure execution of daily tasks including driver deliveries, loading/unloading, cross docking, and customer service. Supervise workforce and equipment scheduling, make corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level, and review truck runs based on location, volume, costs, and private fleet utilization. Communicate specific performance standards, interview hourly associates, monitor attendance and productivity, and provide counseling or recognition. Manage logistics operations including dispatch, documentation, and procedure control while ensuring compliance with financial policies, safety strategies, and regulatory agencies. Plan work assignments for effective fleet/warehouse equipment use and assist in new associate training. Supports a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shift from 8:30am to 9pm. Salary ranges from $61,900.00 to $83,400.00 with bonus eligibility based on performance and location.
Required Qualifications
- Must be available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am to 9pm shift
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable
- Must be able to interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire
- Must be able to monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers
- Must be able to provide counseling and/or recognition to associates as needed
- Must be able to supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure control
- Must be able to evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of dispatch/warehouse operations
- Must be able to assist in new associate training
- Must be able to provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shift
- Must have a thorough working knowledge of the site's operating systems
- Must be able to complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion
- Must be able to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures such as inventory accuracy and control, returns, damages, etc
- Must understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability
- Must be able to closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets
- Must be able to ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are in alignment with the location safety strategy
- Must be able to provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance
- Must be able to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures
- Must be able to understand the location-specific customer goals & objectives
- Must be able to determine areas that could benefit from Continuous Improvement efforts
- Must be able to properly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet/warehouse equipment
- Must be able to work with hourly associates to ensure they understand safe and efficient operation of equipment
