Job Summary
Conduct operational leadership for the warehouse workforce, managing driver deliveries, loading/unloading, cross docking, and customer service while supervising workforce and equipment scheduling. Make corrective and disciplinary decisions up to the written warning level, interview hourly associates for hiring, and review truck runs and daily orders for private fleet opportunities. Ensure compliance with safety strategies, financial policies, and regulatory agencies while monitoring attendance, productivity, and inventory accuracy. Plan work assignments to optimize fleet equipment use and minimize overtime, providing relief coverage and training as needed. Support Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm shifts with a salary of $61,900 to $83,400, including bonus eligibility based on performance.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough working knowledge of the site's operating systems
- Ability to interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire
- Ability to communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable
- Ability to monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers
- Ability to provide counseling and/or recognition to associates
- Ability to make corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level
- Ability to review truck runs based on location of accounts, volume, costs, customer requirements and private fleet utilization
- Ability to review daily orders for additional private fleet opportunities
- Ability to supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch and proper documentation and procedure control
- Ability to evaluate and recommend changes in preferred work methods to increase productivity of dispatch/warehouse operations
- Ability to assist in new associate training
- Ability to provide relief coverage for operational duties when associates utilize time-off or are absent from the shift
- Ability to complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion
- Ability to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures such as inventory accuracy and control, returns, damages, etc
- Ability to understand the relationship between decision-making and profitability
- Ability to closely manage associates' working hours and activities to minimize overtime and to meet or exceed productivity targets
- Ability to ensure day-to-day management and associate activities are in alignment with the location safety strategy
- Ability to provide associates with communication, training, feedback, and direction to ensure safe performance
- Ability to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and company policies and procedures
- Ability to understand the location-specific customer goals & objectives
- Ability to determine areas that could benefit from Continuous Improvement efforts
- Ability to properly plan work assignments to ensure effective use of fleet/warehouse equipment
- Ability to work with hourly associates to ensure they understand safe and efficient operation of equipment
- Availability for Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm hours
