Job Summary
Set direction, culture, and standards for people and performance at the Skelmersdale site, holding individuals accountable for balanced scorecard delivery across Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Morale. Manage daily/weekly operations for five production lines and warehousing to meet annual operating plan targets, ensuring flawless execution of product-related changes and compliance with AIB and BRC audit standards. Lead shift-based teams on health, safety, and welfare for over 500 employees while driving continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma and other core operating processes. Manage direct reports on performance, training, and resource planning, and collaborate with the broader Operations Manager network to support UK strategy.
Required Qualifications
- Significant operational manufacturing experience & knowledge (products, processes, maintenance)
- Very capable people leader:- standard setting, holding people accountable, influencing, motivating and coaching skills
- High ability to communicate and be credible at all levels in the organisation (shop floor to senior executives)
- Ability to balance short term need to supply business with long-term strategic thought
- Broad understanding of end to end Supply Chain Operation
- Understanding of financial processes and systems (AOP, forecasting, cost of goods detail)
- Analytical skills, including LSS capability (preferably Green Belt) and the ability to make short and long term recommendations on the basis of available data
- A proven track record of project management and affecting change
- Influencing skills across Operations peers and seniors
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent understanding of an Integrated Work System and, ideally, experienced in the implementation and development of the IWS
