Senior Operations & Application Support Engineer - freelance

Job Summary
Lead resolution of major incidents and complex production issues, conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions to ensure timely service restoration. Define monitoring and observability strategies while driving proactive maintenance, capacity planning, and performance improvement initiatives. Validate deployment and rollback strategies with DevSecOps and Architecture teams, preparing operational reports and service improvement recommendations. Lead automation through scripting and tooling, providing technical mentorship to support teams. Requires 7+ years in enterprise IT operations, deep ITIL knowledge, and Linux/cloud-native expertise. Onsite/hybrid in Strasbourg with approximately 7% on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise IT operations
- At least 3 years in a senior operations or support role
- Deep knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Event, and Capacity Management
- Extensive experience with Linux/Unix environments, containerized and cloud-native platforms, and CI/CD ecosystems
- Strong expertise in observability, logging, performance monitoring, and operational analytics tools
- Proven experience supporting middleware and integration technologies, including API management, messaging, event streaming, identity management, and web platforms
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex incident management, capacity planning, operational risk assessment, and service improvement programs
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Onsite/Hybrid in Strasbourg only
- Around 7% on-call services
