Senior Online Developer (JavaScript)

Job Summary
Design, build, and deploy web applications and tools to support the in-house game engine team while maintaining existing infrastructure. Develop integrations with third-party APIs and produce performant, well-documented code across the entire software development lifecycle. Communicate with other teams to resolve bugs and support application deployments efficiently. This back-end role focuses on building business-critical systems from the ground up using JavaScript, Node.js, and TypeScript. Based at Rebellion's Oxford or Warwick studios with a hybrid schedule, the position offers relocation support and extensive benefits including 22 days of holiday and a pension scheme.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with NodeJS, Javascript and TypeScript
- A knowledge of front end frameworks like Vue and React
- Strong experience with databases such as MySQL and no SQL database
- Familiarity with AWS or equivalent cloud environments
- Demonstrated capacity to quickly learn new technologies
- This role is only open to applicants who have the permanent right to work in the UK
- Applicants must therefore be able to demonstrate their ongoing eligibility to work in the UK without the need for employer sponsorship
Desired Qualifications
- Strong experience with software development tools and version control systems (Git/Perforce desirable)
- Comfortable modifying/maintaining applications written in other languages (such as PHP) is desirable
- Experience writing serverless functions (AWS Lambda/Azure Functions) is a bonus
