Job Summary
Senior Officer, Africa, Global Partnership Development leads the foundation’s approach to African philanthropy, developing and stewarding high-value partnerships with Africa-based and Africa-originating UHNWIs, family offices, corporates, and private/institutional foundations to advance health and development priorities across the continent. The role requires managing complex, multi-stakeholder partnerships, engaging African philanthropists, and coordinating with internal teams to align donor interests with foundation priorities. The position emphasizes deal-shaping, partnership structuring (including blended finance and co-investment), relationship management, and strategic communication to mobilize substantial philanthropic commitments, with close collaboration across Global Policy & Advocacy, Institutional Philanthropy, and country offices in Africa, particularly Nigeria and Ethiopia. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, with the ability to work legally in Kenya without visa sponsorship, and travel up to 40% regional. The role supports senior leadership engagements, Giving Pledge activities, and portfolio management using Salesforce for tracking and reporting.
