Job Summary
Coordinate and lead administration of large educational facility construction projects in Los Angeles County, including planning, design, budget maintenance, scheduling, labor compliance, and close-out; read and interpret plans, provide contracting strategies, respond to RFCs/COPs/CDs, prepare cost estimates for change orders, monitor payments, conduct site walks, review schedules and constructability per DSA/building code standards, maintain project files, lead progress meetings, and assist in project close-out and collection of technical documents; requires 8+ years in similar roles and a bachelor’s degree in Architecture/Engineering/Construction Management; BIM and LEED/CHPS experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
- Minimum of 8 years full-time paid professional experience in project/construction management of commercial/public/educational facility construction projects (> $15M)
- Experience with BIM and LEED/CHPS (preferred) and DSA processes (preferred)
- Strong ability to coordinate and document project delivery, reviews of RFCs/COPs/CDs, and cost-estimating for change orders
- Experience reading and interpreting architectural/engineering plans
- Ability to manage progress, schedules, and contractor communications
- Knowledge of building codes and district standards
- Experience with project close-out activities and documentation maintenance
- Ability to lead meetings and prepare agendas/minutes
