Job Summary

Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Emergency Department to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care and achieve departmental goals. Maintain clinical practice standards, oversee care delivery processes, and serve as a senior clinical resource for complex patient situations, triage, and discharges. Lead workforce development through recruitment, performance management, and competency validation while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians and care management teams. Monitor quality metrics, implement corrective actions, and develop staffing plans aligned with patient acuity and operational needs. Partner with the ANCO on budget planning and equipment requirements to support fiscal responsibility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • 5+ years of Emergency Department clinical RN experience
  • 2+ years management experience
  • Training in Performance Improvement, total Quality Management, and/or Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Current license to practice Nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification
  • PALS certification
  • Must have knowledge of Emergency Nursing
  • Ability to effectively manage expense budget as allocated
  • Ability to make formal presentations relative to clinical, operational, educational research and financial issues
  • Ability to problem-solve and work collaboratively towards defined patient care outcomes

Desired Qualifications

  • 5+ years management experience in an Emergency Department
  • Master's degree
  • CEN certification
