Job Summary
Lead systems engineering activities ensuring compliance with Nuclear Surety standards, policies, and regulations. Apply nuclear surety principles including Safety, Security, and Reliability (S2R) across system design and development. Develop and maintain nuclear surety documentation including Safety Rules, Surety Assessments, and System Safety Plans. Conduct and support Nuclear Surety Inspections (NSIs) and surety working groups while performing hazard analyses such as Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis. Collaborate with government customers, program offices, and stakeholders on nuclear surety requirements and provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level engineers. Support proposal development, design reviews, and customer briefings related to nuclear surety. This role requires a Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship. Candidates must be local to the Pittsfield office and able to work onsite.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field
- 5+ years of relevant systems engineering experience
- Active Secret clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Local to the Pittsfield office
- Ability to work onsite
- Deep knowledge of Nuclear Surety principles and DoD nuclear policy
- Hazard Analysis methodologies (PHA, FTA, FMEA)
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a highly classified and regulated environment
