Job Summary
Lead supplier qualification and auditing activities for Valar Atomics' safety-significant nuclear suppliers, managing the full lifecycle from planning through corrective action. Own the Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) Program, including methodology development, plan approval, and facility survey execution. Develop and maintain the nuclear supplier quality requirements framework, purchase order clauses, and NQA-1-aligned standards while investigating nonconformances with regulatory traceability. Support NRC, DOE, and external auditor engagements, mentor team members, and drive quality improvement initiatives. Requires Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years in nuclear industry or Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program background, with extensive NQA-1 knowledge and ability to travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of nuclear industry experience
- Graduate of the U.S. Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program
- 3+ years of nuclear experience
- 10+ years of direct nuclear industry experience
- Experience with nuclear quality assurance and supplier quality principles
- Knowledge of NQA-1 and nuclear supplier qualification requirements
- Strong technical judgment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to independently lead supplier audits, assessments, and quality investigations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement, Regulatory, Operations, and supplier organizations
- Ability to travel to supplier facilities as required
