Senior NPI Team Leader - 3600 Platform Capacity Expansion

Job Summary

Lead a high-visibility, LPSD capacity expansion initiative for incremental 3600 engines and gensets by coordinating with Orders/Scheduling, Logistics, Supply Chain, Assembly/Test, Operations, and Manufacturing Engineering to manage resources for each deliverable. Oversee project progress and capital costs while communicating status with stakeholders and addressing problems. Influence staffing decisions and motivate the cross-functional team to ensure successful completion of NPI/NSI gateway deliverables from launch through gateway 6. Manage customer expectations and utilize project controls and reporting mechanisms to achieve strategic business objectives. Requires five-day on-site availability in Lafayette, IN, with 10% or less travel; relocation is available.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Understanding of Caterpillar engine NPI/NSI Process
  • Demonstrated experience leading and coaching cross-functional teams
  • Ability to quickly assemble and align resources to address program opportunities, technical challenges, and business objectives
  • Strong self-starter with a high degree of personal initiative
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within collaborative team environments
  • 5-day on-site availability
  • Domestic relocation
  • Successful completion of a drug screen

Desired Qualifications

  • Extensive Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan
  • Extensive Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of the policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control the set of projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve program objectives
