Job Summary

Senior News Assistant supports the News Desk in coordinating enterprise scheduling, tracking top stories and priorities, maintaining a newsroom-wide master list of stories, and coordinating with editors, desk heads and project managers. Responsibilities include writing the Driving the Day email signaling masthead priorities, taking notes during key meetings, coordinating weekly and daily planning, tracking scoops and ensuring timely publication, and scheduling/desks meetings. The role requires strong organizational skills, ability to work closely with editors and a team, and familiarity with newsroom operations. In-office position based in New York City four days per week; experience with Google Workspace and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment are preferred. Preferred qualifications include a BA/BS and strong communication, judgment, and collaboration skills.
