Job Summary
Lead the design and implementation of intricate LAN, WAN, data centre, and cloud network solutions while developing scalable architectures aligned with business goals. Configure advanced network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers; enforce comprehensive security strategies such as Zero Trust, segmentation, and intrusion detection systems. Perform security audits, vulnerability assessments, and complex troubleshooting using monitoring tools to diagnose and resolve network issues. Manage network projects from planning to execution, define objectives, allocate resources, and ensure successful completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate technical information to various audiences, and evaluate vendor offerings to negotiate contracts and ensure SLA compliance. Maintain comprehensive network documentation, estimate capacity requirements, and ensure configurations comply with industry standards and security policies.
Required Qualifications
- Expert-level understanding of networking concepts, protocols, architectures, and services
- Proficiency in configuring and managing complex network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and advanced security protocols
- Strong hands-on experience with network monitoring and analysis tools
- Excellent documentation and communication skills to convey technical information effectively
- Proficient in network administration and configuration tools
- Proven experience leading and managing network projects
- Advanced problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues
- Leadership abilities and a track record of mentorship
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Relevant cloud provider Network Administration certification (Azure, Google, Amazon)
- Industry-recognized certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Juniper Networks Certified Internet Specialist (JNCIS), or equivalent certifications
- Advanced progressive experience in network engineering, including roles of increasing responsibility
- Advanced experience working in a networking environment
- Advanced experience with network security
- Advanced WAN and LAN experience
- Advanced experience in wireless equipment, protocols, standards, and wireless LAN design
- Advanced cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) are beneficial
