Senior Network Reliability Engineer

Job Summary
The Senior Network Reliability Engineer will focus on elevating network architecture, performance, and availability for Forcepoint’s production network infrastructure. Responsibilities include monitoring and improving network reliability and scalability, engaging in incident response, conducting post-mortem analyses, implementing automation to optimize operations, and participating in 24/7 on-call rotations. The role requires a university degree and over 7 years of experience with strong knowledge of networking concepts, BGP routing, network security practices, and automation tools. Ideal candidates will also have scripting abilities, experience with Juniper platforms, and familiarity with Linux or Kubernetes.
Required Qualifications
- University degree and 7+ years of related experience, or equivalent work experience
- Strong understanding of Networking concepts and theories, such as different protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, routing protocols, etc), VLAN configuration, DNS, OSI layers, and load balancing
- Strong understanding of network monitoring techniques including SNMP, Flow Monitoring, Telemetry, and Syslog
- Strong understanding of BGP routing on the public internet
- Understanding of network security best practices
- Understanding of network firewalls, IPSEC/GRE tunnels, VPN services
- Ability and willingness to coach and mentor Team members and colleagues
- Network Automation using tooling like ansible, puppet, or chef
Desired Qualifications
- Software Engineering skills with at least one scripting language like Python
- Understanding of Junos and Juniper MX, QFX, and EX platform
- Understanding of Linux or Kubernetes systems
