Job Summary
Senior Network Engineering Manager at Verizon responsible for Centre Engineering, Project Management, and Vendor Management across Ultra-Long Haul (ULH) and core network build initiatives. Drives design and deployment of management network components, mentors engineers and project managers, governs BOM generation and equipment configurations, oversees budgeting and procurement (TEOs), coordinates resources across multiple organisations, maintains technical standards and deployment forecasts, and manages relationships with service and third-party vendors. Requires leadership in engineering or project management, strong cross-functional collaboration, and expertise in long-haul telecom infrastructure; hybrid work setup with defined home/office days in a role that blends strategic oversight with hands-on delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related field
- Relevant work experience
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others collaboratively and individually on complex projects
- Experience solving complex problems and the ability to make independent decisions based on policies, practices, and project requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
- Knowledge or experience in SONET, DWDM, and Long Haul Transport Systems Backbone Routing and Switching systems
- Fibre splicing, fibre remediation, and characterisation
- Telecom Installation Experience (hands-on or remotely directed) and managing large-scale telecom infrastructure programmes
