Senior Network Engineer

Job Summary
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure for a federal government customer, including deploying standardized configurations, managing DISA STIG hardening, and leading EOL device migrations. Monitor network performance using SolarWinds, troubleshoot complex routing protocols, Layer 2 switching, and VoIP systems, and respond to incidents via internal ticketing. Assist with fiber optic cabling, IP subnetting strategies, and encryption device management while traveling to remote locations for infrastructure deployment. Develop SOPs, provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, and collaborate with cybersecurity and facilities teams to ensure secure operations. Requires 16+ years of experience, TS/SCI clearance, and US citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 16 years experience
- 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure in complex environments
- Experience implementing DISA STIGs and secure network configurations in federal environments
- Knowledge of enterprise network security principles and best practices
- Experience supporting VOIP technologies and troubleshooting telecommunications issues
- Ability to read and understand network diagrams, technical documentation, and infrastructure schematics
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Active TS/SCI or Q/SCI clearance
- US Citizen
- Travel to remote locations to deploy network infrastructure and extend enterprise services
Desired Qualifications
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise or CCIE
- Experience supporting Department of Energy (DOE) or other federal government agencies
- Knowledge of network automation and scripting tools
- Prior experience working in classified or secure operational environments
