Job Summary
Senior Network Engineer to design and implement secure network infrastructure across hybrid on-premises and cloud environments (AWS and Azure) for a regulated NSW public-sector context. Responsibilities include designing and implementing secure network solutions, supporting projects, providing expert technical guidance, monitoring performance and security, leading incident and problem management with vendors/MSPs, automating provisioning and monitoring, embedding cyber security best practices, and contributing to the continuous improvement of a hybrid/multi-cloud environment. Required capabilities span enterprise networking (routing, switching, BGP, OSPF, VLANs), firewall and Zero Trust concepts, and a strong foundation in Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), storage, backup, and disaster recovery. NSW Government experience and WWCC are noted as considerations; role supports hybrid work arrangements near Sydney.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in information technology and/or industry experience in related field.
- Note: A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid employment is required before commencing in this role.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. For ongoing roles, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident. Australian Temporary Residents may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
