Job Summary
Senior Network Engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-performance global trading networks supporting low-latency environments. Drive product selection, design, routing configuration, and troubleshooting in collaboration with Systems and Trading Operations teams to ensure 24/7 availability and scalability across 25 countries and 100 locations. Contribute to strategy and technical details of the global network architecture, with responsibilities spanning network design, capacity planning, deployment, monitoring, and documentation, while applying strong problem-solving skills to improve performance and reliability for worldwide trading and research platforms.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related IT field
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in low-latency/high-frequency trading environments
- In depth understanding of layer 2/3 protocols; OSPF, BGP, PIM, IGMP
- Experience managing Arista, Cisco, and other networking devices
- Familiarity with low-latency microwave networks and/or optical transmission systems (Desirable)
- Experience in designing enterprise networks, capacity planning, and full lifecycle project management
- Experience with packet decoding and analysis tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark
- Excellent written and oral communication, documentation skills
- Experience with Unix/Linux command line utilities and networking stack
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across LAN, multicast market data distribution, and global WAN
- Understanding of power/cooling in datacenters
- Fiber optics knowledge and cabling standards
- Willingness to solve small technical problems in the field
- Excellent collaboration and willingness to admit mistakes
- Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, NAT
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible or Salt)
- Familiarity with Python, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, GitHub
- Familiarity with public cloud networks (AWS, GCP, Azure)
