Job Summary
Senior Network Engineer (L3 Support) to join the global Network Operations and Engineering team in Bucharest. Responsible for handling complex network issues, driving root cause resolution, leading network hardening initiatives, and mentoring junior engineers. Key duties include L3 support for LAN/WAN/SD-WAN, incident resolution, technical governance, coordinating major incidents, designing security-compliant hardening measures, leading network-related projects ( rollout, migration, transformation ), and ensuring proper documentation and change-management alignment. Role is hybrid with 3 days in the office, 8x5 business-hours, and on-call rotations; collaboration across infrastructure, security, cloud, vendors, and business stakeholders; mentoring L1.5/L2 engineers and contributing to runbooks and knowledge bases.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in network engineering / support roles
- Expert-level knowledge of Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, VRF)
- Network security (Firewalls, VPNs, NAC, segmentation, ACLs)
- WiFi technologies (Cisco and Juniper)
- Cisco ISE (NAC, authentication, policy enforcement)
- Palo Alto (firewalls, security policies)
- Juniper (routing, switching, or Mist)
- DDI (Infoblox)
- End-to-end troubleshooting across multiple domains
- Packet capture analysis and log correlation
- Network performance and stability analysis
- English proficiency
- Experience with enterprise/global network environments
- Experience in project delivery and network transformation initiatives
- Certifications: CCNP, CCIE, PCNSE, JNCIP or equivalent
- Experience with cloud networking (Azure, AWS)
- Familiarity with zero trust and network segmentation frameworks
