Senior Network Engineer - EMEA Coverage
$2,500,000–$2,900,000 year
HybridPrague, Prague, Czechia
Job Summary
Design and deploy low-latency network infrastructure across exchange colocation sites, managing routing, switching, multicast distribution, and carrier circuits. Own end-to-end health of market-data and order-flow paths, including latency, capacity, and gap recovery behavior. Lead regional network projects such as site builds, capacity expansion, and hybrid-cloud extensions while diagnosing and resolving production incidents methodically. Execute safe configuration changes in production and partner globally on daily support. This role requires deep hands-on network engineering with Cisco, Juniper, and Arista expertise, proficiency in Linux, and practical network automation using Python and Ansible. You will own European operating hours within a follow-the-sun support model, handing off cleanly to colleagues in Asia and the Americas. The position offers a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week and comprehensive benefits including PTO, parental leave, and professional development days.
Required Qualifications
- Deep, hands-on network engineering — you've designed and run production networks, not just operated them.
- Strong routing and switching fundamentals: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and IP multicast (PIM, IGMP) — with real understanding of multicast, not just exposure to it.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Arista across routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Calm, methodical crisis management — you can own a critical incident under pressure and think clearly while doing it.
- Comfortable in Linux; you can troubleshoot from the host, not just the switch.
- Network automation in practice (Python, Ansible)
- You'll own European working hours.
- This is a hybrid position requiring three days of in-office collaboration per week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remaining two days.
Desired Qualifications
- Financial market-data connectivity or exchange networking: multicast feed handling, exchange colocation, latency-sensitive delivery.
- Precision time: PTPv2, hardware timestamping, grandmaster clocks.
- Kernel-bypass networking (Solarflare/Onload or similar) and precision packet capture / latency measurement.
- Colocation physical-layer fluency: cross-connects, dark fibre, DWDM, carrier and Megaport-style connectivity.
- Hybrid-cloud network experience extending on-premises infrastructure into public cloud.
