Job Summary
Design, code, test, debug, and document software applications using .NET, cloud, and related technologies while ensuring performance, quality, and responsiveness. Collaborate with project leaders and product owners to translate business requirements into technical solutions, define new features, and ship updates. Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements to existing systems, offering end-user troubleshooting and problem-solving assistance. Stay current with .NET trends, continuously improve the codebase, optimize performance, and participate in code reviews. Develop and implement unit and functional tests, create comprehensive documentation, and assist in defining test scenarios. This fully remote role reports to the Technical Technology Lead and supports the educational revolution mission of OneOcean, serving over 30,000 vessels globally.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- 8+ years in commercial development
- Strong technical expertise in .NET and object-oriented programming
- Proficiency in Test-Driven Development (TDD), unit, integration, and acceptance testing
- Experience with microservices, distributed architecture, GraphQL, REST APIs, event buses, and message queues
- Solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Good understanding of client-server architecture and asynchronous programming
- Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL (MS SQL Server, MongoDB), Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Excellent communication, teamwork, detail-oriented, and analytical skills
Desired Qualifications
- Equivalent practical experience or certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, .NET certifications)
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with modern development practices is highly valued
- Experience with front-end technologies (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and modern DevOps practices
- Experience with AWS/Azure cloud environments
- Familiarity with application performance monitoring tools
