Job Summary
Senior NDE Technician / Certified Welding Inspector responsible for performing and overseeing structural steel, welding, and nondestructive testing inspections including VT, PT, MT, RT, and UT, while serving as a technical resource to clients and junior staff. Lead and mentor inspectors, ensure procedures and codes are followed, document detailed inspection reports, and travel to field sites from the West Seneca, NY base.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in nondestructive testing, welding inspection, or related inspection services
- Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or two Level II certifications in RT, PT, MT, VT, or UT
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to document required training and discipline hours for certifications held
- Strong understanding of nondestructive testing methods, welding inspection procedures, applicable codes, and safety practices
- Ability to work independently in both field and laboratory environments
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to field sites, including in inclement weather conditions
- Ability to comply with company drug testing and background check requirements
