Job Summary
Senior Naval Architect – Submarine Structures responsible for leading submarine structural calculations and design assessments, providing expert opinions on pressure hull and structural features, coordinating with shipyards, OEMs, and class society stakeholders; acting as Technical Lead, Technical Assurer, and Project Manager on assigned projects within BMT’s QMS; maintaining technical competency and CPD; ensuring compliance with IMO, Class Society, and Transport Canada regulations, with travel to support mid-life upgrades and vessel condition documentation; hybrid work arrangement in Victoria, Halifax, or Ottawa, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Naval Architecture
- Registration with a Professional Engineering body in province of work or ability to obtain
- Eligible for Canadian and International security clearance
- Passport and ability to travel internationally (minimum 3-month deployment)
