Senior Motor Fleet Underwriter

Job Summary
Manage and develop a large motor fleet insurance portfolio by assessing risk, optimizing underwriting processes, and creating tailored policies using advanced analytics and AI. Extract risk data from submissions to triage cases faster, then make judgement calls on complex decisions while maintaining autonomy over your business unit. Mentor junior team members, surface opportunities to improve policy wording and coverage, and continuously refine the client onboarding process to ensure frictionless quoting. Collaborate with product teams to embed customer journey enhancements into the roadmap and actively train staff on emerging mobility trends and cutting-edge underwriting techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience underwriting motor fleet insurance
- Track record of building strong and supportive relationships with insurance brokers
- The ability to collate data and provide support to our Head of Underwriting to enable them to monitor and analyse the portfolio
- Provide feedback and continuously improve the process for gathering risk information from our clients, in order to ensure frictionless quoting and onboarding for all clients and brokers
- Identify and surface to our Underwriting Manager areas where we can improve our policy wording and coverage
- Follow rapidly evolving market trends, continuously refurbishing your knowledge of cutting-edge products and services in the Motor Fleet
- Actively train and develop members of the Underwriting and operations teams and to help promote Underwriting knowledge across Flock
- Comfortable using AI in underwriting work, for example extracting and checking risk information or speeding up quoting, while keeping your own judgement on every decision
- Minimum of 3 days per week spent in the office
- Role involves visit to client sites and broker offices
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in dealing with large corporate customers
- ACII qualified or working towards
- Experience of working closely with product teams to ensure product, process and customer journey enhancements are included within the product roadmap
