Job Summary
Senior Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) needed to join the Systems Engineering Technologies Department on-site at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM. The role focuses on MBSE (SysML) artifact development and maintenance across full product lifecycles, translating customer IT needs into model-based solutions, and supporting IPTs, requirements traceability, mission assurance, data engineering, and government-facing technical work. Candidates should have a BS in a relevant field, 5+ years in systems engineering/product development, experience with MBSE tools (e.g., Sparx EA, Cameo, Rational Rhapsody), strong communication skills, and an active DoD clearance. Familiarity with UML/SysML, SQL, data profiling/transformation, and defense-domain adaptability are preferred. The position emphasizes senior-level leadership, mentoring teammates/clients, and collaborating to deliver model artifacts and architecture for government contracts. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, General Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience with product development or systems engineering and integration projects
- Industry experience in Model Based Engineering to include MBE, MBSE, MDA, MDD, MDE
- Demonstrated programming experience in object-oriented programming (e.g. Java, C# or C++)
- Experience with a Model-Based Systems and Software Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, Cameo Systems Modeler or Rational Rhapsody
- Demonstrated proficiency and strength in verbal, written, presentation, and communications skills for developing and delivering technical presentations
- Referenceable project-based experience in a team environment
- Active DoD clearance
- Must be a US citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a US DoD clearance within first year of employment
