Job Summary
Senior ML Engineer to own production ML and AI agent systems for the data team. You will take models from prototype to production, harden the ML API serving NBA recommendations, design and ship an end-to-end agent tool contract, and set up eval foundations (golden transcripts, rubric-based judges, regression suites). You’ll partner with HAL to deploy agent runtimes, lead the data team’s approach to shipping ML models as LLM-callable tools with scoped input/output schemas, and mentor data engineers on ML/AI patterns. Requirements emphasize 7+ years in production ML, strong Python (plus some TypeScript), tool-design discipline for LLM consumption, eval discipline, prompt-shape literacy, and experience building low-latency production APIs (FastAPI, BentoML, etc.). Desired items include agent observability, cost/latency tradeoffs, and familiarity with agent runtimes (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex). The role is remote (from anywhere) as a contractor for Clutch, a FinTech-focused SaaS company serving Credit Unions, with a focus on production AI for NBA-style workflows.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of engineering experience building and shipping production ML systems
- Strong Python (and some TypeScript) for production codebases
- Experience designing tools and LLM-callable interfaces with clear input/output schemas
- Experience building low-latency production APIs and agent/tool ecosystems
- Familiarity with AWS (Lambda), Docker, and GitHub workflows
- Experience shipping production ML models from prototype to production
- Ability to craft eval foundations: golden transcripts, rubric-based judges, regression suites
