Job Summary
Seeking a Senior Missile Warhead Engineer with a Master's degree and seven years of experience in warhead design to develop advanced interceptor systems. Requires expertise in terminal ballistics, fuzing integration, and compliance with safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or similar technical field
- Seven years of full-time professional experience in warhead design and development roles
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret Security Clearance
- Expertise in warhead design including blast, fragmentation, and specialized defeat mechanisms
- Knowledge of terminal ballistics and warhead/target interaction modeling
- Experience with fuzing system integration and safety/arming device design
- Knowledge of insensitive munitions (IM) requirements and testing protocols
- Experience with hydrocode modeling for warhead effects prediction
- Familiarity with explosive safety standards and handling procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with small diameter missile warheads or submunitions
- Direct experience taking a warhead design through safety certification and flight qualification
- Knowledge of counter-UAS or counter-missile specific lethality requirements
- Familiarity with joint munitions effectiveness manuals (JMEMs) and other weaponeering tools
Additional Requirements
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret Security Clearance
- U.S. citizenship is required for most positions
