Senior Mining Engineer

Job Summary

Develop and oversee detailed mine plans for short-term, mid-term, and life-of-mine schedules aligned with production goals and safety standards. Provide technical support to operations teams, analyze production data and geologic models to optimize recovery and reduce costs, and conduct cost analyses for capital and operational projects. Ensure all designs comply with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations while leading technology integration initiatives for mine design and reporting. Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with geologists, metallurgists, and operations managers to drive operational excellence. Requires a Bachelor's in Mining Engineering with 7–12 years of experience, proficiency in Vulcan or Surpac, and a Colorado PE license preferred. Based in Denver, CO, with a 4-day office schedule and site visits as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or a related field
  • 7–12 years of progressive mining engineering experience
  • strong background in mine planning and operational support
  • Proficiency with mine design and scheduling software (e.g., Vulcan, Surpac, Deswik, MineSched)
  • strong knowledge of drilling, blasting, and equipment selection
  • In-depth understanding of MSHA, OSHA, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers in a dynamic, field-based environment
  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
  • Local candidate

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Colorado
