Senior Mine Planning Engineer

Job Summary
Design achievable mine plans covering near-term, mid-term, and long-term horizons to optimize production, safety, and cost efficiency. Create pit phase and waste dump designs with associated schedules, while preparing daily compliance reports and verifying extracted tons against royalty agreements. Develop drill patterns for grade-control and production drilling, manage periodic reconciliation calculations, and oversee reporting on mine performance across all periods. Identify initiatives to improve productivity and equipment utilization, communicate economic evaluations and risks to management, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and survey teams. Collaborate with geology, operations, survey, process, and maintenance groups to align planning objectives with business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering
- 7+ years of planning experience in large open-pit operations
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Able to work effectively across departments and organizational levels
- Strong communication skills including preparation of technical reports and presentations to management and peers across the value stream
- Familiar with methodology for sampling and ore reserve estimation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in MineSight
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
