Job Summary
Senior Mine Geologist responsible for driving efficient drilling programs and reconciliation in an underground gold production context. Lead design and execution of resource delineation drilling programs with budget ownership and contractor oversight, optimize all-in drilling costs, and ensure integration of drilling data into rolling forecasts and Life-of-Mine designs. Lead monthly tonnage and grade reconciliation, investigate model-to-mill variance, and train geology staff in month-end reconciliation. Provide technical mentorship to the geology team, promote data integrity, and uphold safety protocols while coordinating with Mine Planning, Engineering, and Drilling Operations teams. Requires a 4-year Geology/Earth Sciences degree, Ontario Geo designation, 5+ years of underground production geology experience (gold/precious metals preferred), and proficiency with Deswik, AcQuire, and Power BI.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year degree in Geology or Earth Sciences
- 5+ years of underground production geology experience (Gold/Precious metals preferred)
- Geo designation from Ontario
- Proficiency in Deswik (MDM/CAD), AcQuire, and Power BI; Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in an underground environment; lifting up to 75 lbs; 12-hour shifts
- Experience with monthly mine reconciliations; budgeting and scheduling of drill programs
- Strong data integrity and reconciliation skills; leadership/mentorship abilities
- Safety standards adherence; ability to work cross-functionally with Mine Planning and Engineering teams
