Job Summary
Provide senior-level mine engineering support to active mining operations, developing short-term and long-term mine plans, schedules, and production strategies. Support underground activities including stope layouts, sequencing, development planning, and ventilation improvements while collaborating with geology, operations, and maintenance teams to optimize performance. Analyze production data to enhance safety and efficiency, prepare engineering designs and reports, and mentor junior engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing. This 2-week on/2-week off rotation includes camp accommodations, flights, and travel support. The role requires a Bachelor's in Mining Engineering with 10+ years of progressive underground experience and proficiency in planning software like Deswik or Vulcan.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
- 10+ years of progressive mine engineering experience
- Strong underground mining experience with exposure to mine planning, stope design, and production optimization
- Strong understanding of underground mining methods, sequencing, and operational requirements
- Experience with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, Datamine, or similar platforms
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Proven ability to mentor, coach, and develop junior engineers
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ventilation systems and mine infrastructure planning considered an asset
- Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility considered an asset
- Mining operations experience is strongly preferred
