Job Summary
Lead and coordinate daily execution of NGS workflows for public health sequencing efforts, including sample preparation, library generation, targeted enrichment, and data generation. Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to laboratory staff; review sequencing run performance and quality metrics; develop and validate SOPs for short- and long-read sequencing; collaborate with researchers and cross-functional teams to plan and execute studies on pathogens of public health importance; ensure compliance with GCP/GLP and safety requirements; support surge testing and project leadership with technical updates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, life sciences, systems biology, data analytics, chemistry, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant molecular and microbiology laboratory experience, including hands-on genomics or NGS experience, OR
- Master’s degree in microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, life sciences, systems biology, data analytics, chemistry, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant molecular and microbiology laboratory experience, including hands-on genomics or NGS experience, OR
- Doctoral degree in microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, life sciences, systems biology, data analytics, chemistry, or a related field.
