Job Summary
Implement and maintain company safety and environmental standards while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for laboratory, leach pad, and refinery operations. Develop, maintain, and improve the site's geo-metallurgical model by integrating metallurgical, geological, and operations data. Execute test work programs to evaluate leach-pad performance, recommend model adjustments, and characterize material properties to optimize blending strategies. Collaborate with mine planning, geology, and ore control teams to enhance recovery and minimize handling issues, while providing technical support to crushing plant operations. Prepare technical reports interpreting laboratory data and contribute to production targets and process department budgeting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or Metallurgical Engineering
- 5 to 10 years of experience in heap leaching and gold recovery circuits (particularly Merrill-Crowe circuits)
- Certified in the use and handling of cyanide
- Strong computer skills
- Experience and familiarity with assay lab operations, facilities, equipment, and procedures, including fire assay, AA, and ICP, bottle roll and column tests
- Expertise in metallurgical procedures and quality control practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- High standards of work and a professional demeanor
- Safety training and meetings to achieve zero incidents
