Job Summary
Senior Mental Health Clinician role within RCH’s Child Hospital Outreach Post-suicidal Engagement (C&Y HOPE) program. Responsibilities include completing clinical assessments, formulations and care planning for children and youth, delivering time-limited, evidence-based individual interventions to address emotional regulation and social challenges, and providing family-focused interventions. Collaborates with the HOPE team (Program Clinical Lead, lived experience peers, speech pathologist and family support worker) to manage a complex caseload, develop Recovery Care Plans, perform risk assessments and implement risk mitigation and discharge planning. Requires tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and current professional registration (Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Nurse, Social Worker or Speech Pathologist). The role supports services targeting children aged 5 to 11 within the North and West Metropolitan Melbourne region, with a fixed-term, full-time appointment through June 2027 and potential job-sharing. Vaccination compliance and background checks are required.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary Qualification or equivalent in relevant discipline
- Current Registration as an Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or Registered Nurse with the applicable Health Practitioner Board or a qualified Social Worker or Speech Pathologist
