Job Summary
Senior Mental Health and Wellness Clinician provides behavioral health evaluations and coordinates the discharge for psychiatric and chemical dependency outpatient and inpatient referrals/transfers in conjunction with the physician and healthcare team. Works on a modified PET (psychiatric emergency) team for Mission Viejo and Laguna Beach campuses, with on-call PET coverage. Requires licensure in relevant California mental health professions (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist) or equivalent and an LPS designation, and possesses crisis-intervention experience. Delivers care within an acute care setting, collaborating with the treatment team to place individuals on 5150 holds when indicated. This role emphasizes patient-centered, whole-person care aligned with Providence Mission Hospital’s mission and Magnet-designated quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, psychology or related field or Ph. D. in Psychology or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- LPS Designation (Orange County) at hire or within 90 days of hire date
- California Clinical Social Worker License upon hire or California Professional Counselor License upon hire or California Marriage and Family Therapist License upon hire or California Psychologist License upon hire
- Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
- 1 year of Experience providing crisis intervention and/or patient intake evaluation services across a continuum of care within an acute care or free-standing facility
