Senior Medical Technologist

Job Summary
Perform, review, and report laboratory tests to assist in diagnosing and treating patients while adhering to federal, state, and CAP regulations. Conduct quality assurance and control procedures, including recognizing discrepant results and advising the supervisor. Independently process specimens, perform both manual and automated procedures, and enter test results into patient files. Analyze and interpret results, correlate data, and report unusual findings. Complete instrument calibration and maintenance, order supplies, and assist in training personnel or special projects as assigned. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Technologist
- B.S. or B.S. in Biological, Chemistry or Physical Science or military educational equivalent
- Registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP) or AMT or HEW certified
- Transcripts must be presented
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to work Saturday or weekend rotation as specified by departmental schedule
