Job Summary
Build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and advocacy organizations to facilitate scientific exchange and advance medical education for Acadia's rare disease portfolio. Engage national and regional thought leaders to align interests, discuss research, and participate in scientific discussions about current and emerging therapies. Provide research trial site support, cultivate investigator-initiated research proposals, and develop clinical expertise across the West region covering Northern California, Oregon, and Washington. Cross-functionally collaborate with Regional Business Leaders and Account Business Managers to deliver accurate scientific information, represent the company at continuing educational events, and support commercial operations through speaker and sales representative training. Travel up to 75% including overnight trips, with residence located within the assigned territory.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD) in a scientific discipline or related field
- Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience
- Ability to travel up to 75%, including overnight travel, with residence located within the assigned territory
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, compliance requirements, and clinical research practices
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- The position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting rare diseases, epilepsy, neurology, or psychiatry therapeutic areas strongly preferred
- Previous Medical Science Liaison experience preferred
