Job Summary
Conduct a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing, performing, interpreting, and releasing results while ensuring patient information confidentiality. Collaborate with the Lab Manager and Medical Scientific Team to set plans, provide technical expertise, and participate in critical reviews of audits and incidents to drive continuous improvement. Assist with evaluating new technology, solve workflow problems, and maintain appropriate inventory levels in a clean, safe environment. Spend the majority of time on routine bench work with dedicated time for quality management. This day shift role supports LifeLabs' teaching laboratory initiatives and student placements within a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or experience
- At least 5 years of MLT experience or equivalent
- CMLTO registration required
- Maintain membership in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)
- Ability to distinguish multiple colors
- Vaccinations and/or immunization screening (if mandatory for selected employees)
