Job Summary
Senior Editor responsible for brand and Editorial stewardship for one or more aligned accounts, ensuring FDA guidelines are adhered to and that editorial output follows AMA style and client/regulatory requirements. Manages and coordinates freelance editorial support, vets quality, allocates work, and maintains consistency across contributors. Represents Editorial in internal brand meetings, serves as editor of record, and collaborates with Scientific, Creative, Project Management, and Account Services teams to deliver accurate, timely deliverables. Builds and maintains relationships with Copywriters and Account Services, creates/maintains Editorial style guides, attends account status and kickoff meetings, and supports submissions processes. Requires strategic oversight, strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and experience growing editorial teams. This is a full-time remote role with potential for expanded scope over time; prior experience managing freelance or contract editorial support is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field
- 4-6 years editing experience in a pharmaceutical advertising agency or medical publishing house
- Superior editing skills and knowledge of pharma marketing best practices
- Familiarity with AMA style
- Knowledge of and interest in the health care industry
- Strong language and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict guidelines
- Occasional limited travel required
