Job Summary
Senior Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs for Nephrology at Biogen. Develop and implement global medical strategy for nephrology investigational products (IgAN, PMN), lead high-impact medical activities (advisory boards, medical education, research projects, KME engagement), support clinical development and launch planning, drive evidence-generation plans (including investigator-initiated studies and phase 4), collaborate with publications and external stakeholders, and travel 30-40% for external engagement.
Required Qualifications
- MD, PhD or PharmD
- 8+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably with prior work in headquarters-based Global Medical Affairs role
- substitution of industry work with relevant clinical practice experience in Nephrology may be considered
- experience and expertise in developing, communicating, and executing a comprehensive Global medical affairs plan
- ability to function independently to progress key projects with minimal direction and oversight
- demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams with cross-functional risk sharing and collaboration
- strong travel availability to engage with external stakeholders (30-40%)
- experience leading and collaborating with global, regional and/or affiliate medical teams
- excellent communication, diplomacy, and ability to combine science with relationship building
- knowledge of ex-US regulations as relevant to Medical Affairs
