Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Process Cost Manager responsible for developing accurate budget estimates through quantity take-offs from plans/specifications or conceptual information, building unit costs from labor/material rates, and supporting early-stage decision-making. Responsibilities include interpreting project scope, evaluating and pricing changes, managing subcontractor and client relationships, delivering summary analyses, applying cost management practices, and contributing to risk and value management exercises throughout the project lifecycle. Requires strong written/spoken communication, collaboration with peers/clients, and the ability to work independently with a proactive approach to learning and applying new skills. Preference for candidates pursuing MRICS/AssocRICS/CCP/CEP/CPE or equivalent certification and for individuals with 7+ years in mechanical process estimating.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Construction, Cost & Commercial Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
- Experience: more than 7+ years' experience post undergraduate degree in related field with mechanical process estimating
- Knowledge of cost-estimating methods and construction industry concepts
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- BS in Construction, Cost & Commercial Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
- 7+ years' experience post undergraduate degree in related field with mechanical process estimating
- MRICS, AssocRICS, CCP, CEP, CPE or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Strong communication and client-management skills
- Experience with conceptual estimating, cost planning, BIM 5D cost modeling, LEED cost analysis, and life cycle costing
