Senior Mechanical Estimator – HVAC, Plumbing & Piping

Job Summary
Prepare accurate HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Piping estimates from conceptual design through final bid by reviewing drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Perform design calculations, assist with equipment and material selections, and identify labor factors, contingencies, and cost-saving opportunities. Build relationships with general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors while reviewing vendor quotes and attending pre-bid, turnover, and project setup meetings. Develop labor budgets for awarded projects, support bid tracking and drawing procurement, and mentor Estimator Trainees. Requires strong knowledge of systems, blueprint interpretation, and estimating software like AutoBid and Bluebeam. Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of field experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanical Piping systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
- Solid understanding of applicable plumbing and mechanical codes
- Experience with estimating software such as AutoBid, Excel, and Bluebeam
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; OR 10+ years of field experience in HVAC/Plumbing/Piping; OR 5+ years of estimating experience in these disciplines
