Job Summary
Lead and coordinate a team of mechanical engineers and fitters across multiple water and wastewater sites, delivering planned and reactive maintenance on dewatering equipment. Execute complex repairs, modifications, overhauls, and asset replacements for pumps, pipework, and valves while providing on-site supervision to ensure safe, on-plan delivery. Act as the primary on-site point of contact for customers, coordinating activities with site teams and contractors. Complete permits to work, safety documentation, test reports, and installation certificates in strict adherence to CDM requirements and site rules. Support standby cover, overtime, and flexibility to work away from home when required. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites in Southern England essential.
Required Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (or recognised apprenticeship) in mechanical engineering maintenance
- Full UK driving licence
- willingness to travel to sites (predominantly Southern England)
- Essential safety competencies: COMPEX
- Essential safety competencies: SSSTS
- Essential safety competencies: Confined Space
- Essential safety competencies: First Aid
- Essential safety competencies: IOSH
- 5+ years' experience in an industrial environment
- proven mechanical installation/maintenance/service capability
- Experience leading teams and supervising subcontractors on site

- Strong paperwork and compliance discipline (permits, reports, certificates)

Desired Qualifications
- Background in asset replacement and maintaining equipment typically found on water/wastewater treatment plants (desirable)
- Clean Water and/or SHEA Water
- DSEAR awareness
- PASMA
- CSCS Gold Card
