Job Summary

Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for design and development of aerospace structures, mechanical components, and mechanisms for advanced space or air platforms. Lead detailed design activities, modeling, and documentation using industry-standard CAD tools; create detailed 3D CAD models and fabrication drawings; perform preliminary structural and thermal FEA; oversee integration with test teams; author test plans and lead hardware verification campaigns including vibration, shock, thermal-vacuum, and altitude testing; ensure hardware meets engineering and environmental requirements. Requires hands-on experience with aerospace or spacecraft hardware and strong knowledge of modern aerospace design standards and practices. Collaborative, proactive leader with strong initiative, capable of working within a multi-disciplinary team and navigating security-clearance requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 8+ years of aerospace mechanical design experience
  • Direct experience with aerospace hardware design
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (preferably Siemens NX)
  • Proficiency with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS or Nastran)
  • GD&T expertise (ANSI Y14.5)
  • Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams
  • Active DoD Secret clearance and ability to obtain DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Ability to lift/move 50 pounds
