Job Summary
Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for the design of modular TIAC (Turbine Inlet Air Cooling) Plant, CHP, Mission Critical and District Cooling Plant up to full production, including specifications, calculations, design reviews, cross-discipline coordination, and production-support activities. Leads engineering deliverables (basis of design, P&IDs, data sheets, technical specs, calculations, models) and provides technical leadership in vendor clarifications, site supervision, and project execution. Requires ABET-accredited B.S. in mechanical or chemical engineering, 5+ years HVAC/power-plant design experience, familiarity with relevant codes, and strong CAD/AFT Fathom skills; travel up to 20% and USA work authorization. Preferred Master’s degree and PE registration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in mechanical or chemical engineering from an ABET accredited university
- Minimum of five years of working experience in power plant or HVAC design or similar projects
- Competent in selecting and establishing technical requirements for general mechanical equipment including pumps, chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, etc.
- Competent in piping system design, including pipe material and class specifications, pipe stress analysis, valve selection, etc.
- Familiar with local and international codes, standards, and regulations, and their implementation
- Familiar with design procedure and inter-discipline interface support
- Familiar with engineering quality management
- Familiarity with module design and fabrication practices
- Competence in the preparation of engineering deliverables to appropriate levels of development for all project phases
- Familiar with market and vendors for each type of mechanical equipment
- Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or chemical engineering from an accredited University
- Professional Engineer Registration
- 8+ years of experience leading the engineering and design of mechanical water-side and air-side heat transfer systems (power plant, industrial, or similar)
- Demonstrated success in the technical leadership of an engineering discipline
- Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD preferred)
- Knowledge of AFT Fathom flow analysis software
- Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the USA
